Robotics Software Engineer (m/f/x)

Festanstellung, Vollzeit · Hamburg

About the role
We are looking for a Robotics Software Engineer to join us on our mission to decarbonize lightweight manufacturing.

Are you intrigued by developing the digital backbone for an entirely new carbon fiber manufacturing process? Are you interested in working in a highly collaborative team within a fast-growing deep-tech company? Are you looking to spend your time and motivation on making a difference in the climate emergency?
Then you will love Holy.
What you will do
  • Be part of a motivated engineering team to develop Holy’s revolutionary manufacturing technology.
  • Develop, and implement the world’s first upcyclabe carbon fiber manufacturing process leveraging robotic arms.
  • Work closely together with our advanced composite engineers to parametrise all relevant data points from the manufacturing and recycling processes.
  • Develop and organize the underlying data infrastructure.
  • Ensure seamless workflows with external software tools, like ANSYS and Solidworks.
  • Lead the programming and continuous improvement of our robotic fiber placement.
  • Use the best equipment in our state of the art workshop.
  • Follow your intellectual curiosity and learn about new markets and technologies together with your co-workers.
  • Create high tech solutions within exciting customer projects.
  • This position can develop into an expert, a generalist, or a team lead position and we will make sure that we sit together to discuss your development goals.
What we are looking for
  • You have a passion for coding and developing software with hands-on experience in Python, C++ and ideally ROS.
  • You hold a master's degree in a relevant field (robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar) and have 1+ years of working experience in solving similar problems.
  • You have a passion for automating solutions leveraging software and robotics.
  • You are passionate about working on problems that have not been solved before and appreciate an agile working environment.
  • You like to build projects from a white piece of paper, taking ownership comes naturally to you.
  • You are interested in working on route optimizations and geometrical problems related to the physical world.
  • You like collaborating with others to develop our product and are able to communicate with non-software experts on software topics.
  • You have an autonomous working attitude and the ability to simply get started.
  • PLUS: You know your way around route optimization and have a detailed understanding of operating systems for robotic applications.
  • PLUS: You already worked with composites and have some CAD design experience.
You do not tick all the boxes? We are looking for driven candidates who most importantly add to our culture, and don’t just blend in. Submit an Unsolicited Application if you think that you are a fit.
What we care about
  • Honesty: Being authentic and honest creates trust toward colleagues, customers, and business partners.

  • We win and fail together: Fail early, fail often, fail forward. Failure is where the lessons are. We overcome challenges as a team.
What we offer
  • Impact: Work on a meaningful solution in the fight against climate change with us.
  • Growth: Learn from experienced colleagues, grow your knowledge, and expand your skills within your field or by entering new ones.
  • Ownership: Take ownership and meaningfully shape an early-stage company.
  • Competitive compensation: We believe in rewarding good work.
  • Equity: We want you to become a part of us.
  • Pick your poison: Use the technical equipment of your choice including a meaningful home office set-up.
  • Fun place to work: Enjoying work is crucial for us.

Holy is a hybrid company. It would be great if you can join us at our HQ in Hamburg. For specific positions, we are also hiring fully remotely within +/- 2h of the Hamburg HQ timezone (CEST/GMT+2). To promote our team culture and to spend some quality time together, we organize frequent offsites to meet, work, and most importantly have fun together.
About us

Holy Technologies is the developer of a machine learning-enhanced additive manufacturing system for composite components. The company helps innovation leaders across industries to make their structural carbon fiber components up to 30% lighter, 50% cheaper and 100% recyclable.

The technology addresses 80% of the components in the multi-billion dollar composite market, from carbon fiber to glas fibers, and from sport equipment, medical, automotive, maritime, UAVs and aircraft to wind turbine blades. Holy already works with global innovation leaders, from the automotive and medical industries.

Mobility hardware has a weight problem. By reducing weight, we can enhance battery performance and increase payloads, allowing vehicles—whether terrestrial, aerial, or maritime—to move across greater distances with less energy consumption. Composites are best suited for the task. Yet, we need a fresh category of composite manufacturing: one that's radically more affordable and sustainable. Radical improvement will make composites viable for a much broader array of applications, thereby substituting heavier materials, and triggering a dramatic lightweighting impact that can reach Co2-savings in the magnitude of gigatons.
